The Holiday Counter

At last, Christmas day and all is in their home, snug and safe. Robin put a ham in the oven. What a great lunch.

David grouted the kitchen after lunch. Ohhh...the grout looks really good. It starts to dry...oooohhh it's looking really light....do we like it??

We decided to go and check on Maverick. We get home about 7pm. Neither David and I like the grout bur are afraid to admit it. It is really really light...looks like paper.

We decide to remove it as it is still on the wet/dry side. We began to degrout and finished about 9pm.

No dinner in sight at that time of day. Who is open Chrismas evening and the kitchen is...lets just say...not usable...I popped some popcorn and served it with root beer.

When my kitchen is torn up...I don't cook.

David looked up at me in surprise...."Oh. I haven't had dinner!" I replied sweetly, "Neither have I, enjoy your popcorn!"

New Years....the diet gets better...David is suppose to test the new grout. Next thing I know....he went to town and had almost one wall done.

"What happened to the test area, dear?" I asked. "Oh," says David, "if I don't use this cement now, it will dry and be useless."

"Ok, let me share with you some thoughts....if we don't do a test area and we don't like the color...you will be degrouting it yourself." "OK," says David. He decides to wait.

The color we chooce this time went on really, really dark, but dried to a perfect match. I got to fix a healthy dinner in an organized kitchen....of course so is popcorn from a certain point of view.
