This past August we visited Galveston Island and visited the The Sea Turtle Facility @ NOAA Fisheries Service Galveston Laboratory. We were able to see a Kemp's ridley sea turtle and 1, 2 & 3 yr old Loggerhead turtles. They are open on Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays and have tours during certain times of the day.
We enjoyed seeing the turtles and learned some new things during the tour. Among some of the things this facility does, one is research with tracking devices on turtles too design and place then in such a way that they do not get trapped in fishing nests.

Those turtles are so cute.
The turtle with the tracking devise kind of looks like a "spy turtle" . . . wonder if the Men in Black ever considered that.
Looking forward to hearing more!
