Out with the old...and we have incoming....

David was offered a position in the Denton store within Foxworth-Galbraith. The store manager asked for David and we were grateful because inventories were nearing to an end and so was his position. Rhett and David had worked with each other before and it was a good fit for many reasons.

It may mean that we move from Plano to outside of the Denton area so we are speeding up the remodeling process of our home.

David, the master builder, is presently redoing the counter tops in our kitchen. Here are pictures of the old.....

On Thanksgiving Day we spent it in the kitchen. David built the new countertops himself. His measurements were 100% accurate. The pieces went in like a glove. We also installed a new stove top and a new sink/disposal. Our old sink was 6" deep. The new one is 8" deep. Much better! Now I can put a few dishes in the sink and it doesn't overflow.

By the end of the day, we were pretty hungry. With the kitchen all apart, I reduced my stress level by not cooking. We ate at Jack-in-the-Box! That was the only thing that was open. We got a chuckle out of that one.

The new look:

Next, we will put up backer board and then tile the backsplash. It will look really nice when we are done. We have also put in new light fixtures in the kitchen, music room and foyer. We put faux wood blinds across the front windows. I still haven't decided what blinds to put in the kitchen. One window would cost more than I want to think about...so I get to think about doing something else......good grief.

Any suggestions?

Okay, the next time you think that you have just done it all . . . know that you are expected up here to get our kitchen in place. And, that is no excuse to slow down on the work you are doing now. It was great to see the pictures!

I wish you a warm hello and welcome to my family news.
