Pictured here is the Ridley's Kemp Sea Turtle. He can be seen at the Turtle Barn in Galveston, TX. He is missing one flipper: front left. Otherwise, he is a healthy turtle. He might not be released back into the sea unless he can show that he can swim fast enought to be able to swim away from preditors. If he is not released, a permanent home will be found for him.

Ridley's Kemp Sea Turtle
For those of you who are not aware, the sea turtles are an endangered species. Thanks to many organizations who are working to increase the opportunities for baby turtles(hatchlings) to hatch in safety and make it to the sea, their numbers are on the rise.

I love seeing the pictures of these cute turtles. One day I want to take Preston to see them.
